Concord Parking X-Mas Hamper Drive

Concord Parking got in full “holiday-spirit mode” and prepared the sleds, or in this case, our Concord cars, to deliver happiness throughout our communities.

It was YVR’s 12th annual Holiday Hamper Drive in partnership with Quest Outreach Society. This year, YVR set up a “Quest Pop Up Market” where the Concord team stopped by to shop the shelves, fill a hamper bag, purchase the goods, and help reach the goal of 1250 hampers!

Each year, we are always inspired by the generosity of our partners, employees and community that come together to support great initiatives like this one.

Concord Support KPU Students

Concord Parking is an advocate for education and professional development. We provide parking enforcement and parking management software services for Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU), and as part of our commitment to the university and its students, Concord is sponsoring a $3,000 contribution to support students through KPU’s Indigenous Student Support and Wellness Fund and the KPU Legacy Gala.

Indigenous Student Support

KPU is committed to the tireless pursuit of learning in keeping with the values of the Kwantlen First Nation. Concord’s contribution will support Indigenous students through scholarships and awards. Indigenous students have faced and overcome much to pursue post-secondary education, and we are thrilled to partner with the KPU Foundation team to celebrate these students’ resilience and success!

#GivingTuesday

Tuesday, November 29, 2022 was Giving Tuesday, an International Day of Giving for non-profits and charities around the world. KPU Foundation focused on supporting Indigenous Students, and with Concord’s help, they raised over $145,000!

KPU Legacy Gala Sponsorship

On April 29, 2023, the KPU Foundation will host their first annual KPU Legacy Gala at the Sheraton Guildford. Concord Parking will be there as a Silver Sponsor to support students with much-needed and appreciated scholarships. This new event will bring together a select gathering of alumni, university leaders and members of our community who believe that education, particularly a polytechnic education that focuses on experiential learning, is critical to our collective social and economic well-being.

New Partnerships in the Higher Education Market with SMRTpass

Concord Parking Launches New SMRTpass Solution at Kwantlen Polytechnic University

Concord Parking is now providing parking enforcement and parking management services for Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) on four of its campuses in British Columbia: Richmond, Surrey, Cloverdale, and Langley.

KPU has become the flagship client of Concord’s new SMRTpass technology, which lets users quickly pay for parking or validate their license plate using only QR codes without having to download an app. As part of the Concord CTRL parking management software, this has proven to be an ideal solution for KPU’s parking challenges.

“We were able to understand the challenges and opportunities of managing parking services for students, faculty, staff, and visitors across multiple KPU campus locations. A successful parking program requires a modern, efficient operation leveraging the latest in parking innovation and technology. Working in partnership with KPU, we successfully deliver a superior parking management program focused on exceptional user experience, efficiency, and revenue maximization,” said Concord’s Director of Product Innovation, Marc Postlethwaite.

Concord Parking Expanding to New Brunswick

Concord Parking is excited to announce its New Brunswick branch rollout. Concord will be providing parking management services across the province.

Concord’s office will be at 1080 Champlain St. in Dieppe (a suburb of Moncton), with 3,800 square feet of office space that will be shared with Paladin Security and Paladin Risk Solutions, Concord’s sister companies providing security and risk services to the province. The branch will support approximately 300 employees and is currently hiring new staff members. Parking positions are starting at $18/hr. Concord is inviting all New Brunswickers interested in starting a career in parking management to apply for our open positions.

Concord’s Contract Award
with Eastern Health

Concord Parking was recently awarded the contract to provide parking management services for Eastern Health, located in St. John’s, NL. Eastern Health is Newfoundland and Labrador’s largest healthcare authority serving the eastern side of the province. Along with patient and visitor parking at the Health Science Center, Concord Parking is also managing more than 5,000 employee permits at three major hospitals: The Health Science Centre, St. Clare’s Mercy, and the Miller Centre.

Concord Lands Major Contract
With SFU

Concord Parking has been awarded the contract to provide parking management services for Simon Fraser University, located in Burnaby, B.C. SFU is one of Canada’s largest universities with 37,000 students and 6,500 faculty and staff. This represents one of Concord Parking’s largest contracts to date. The SFU contract will allow Concord Parking to showcase newly developed in-house parking management software designed specifically for university applications.

“SFU will be completely automating the permit purchase process for students, faculty and staff utilizing Concord Parking’s self-hosted permit management software. Additionally, we are providing parking enforcement with Concord’s mobile License Plate Recognition (LPR) vehicle and violation management software,” said Concord’s Director of Parking and Branch Leadership, Marc Postlethwaite.

Concord’s solution process and implementation successfully allowed SFU to focus time and energy on what was needed to meet their business needs. The contract was announced effective June 2021.
